My goal has always been to give the Arabic script a modern interpretation. I feel Arabic is one of the most aesthetically pleasing scripts, it possesses geometric perfection and the fluidity of the letters lends itself to being manipulated to fit any shape and size.
My inspiration comes from my own personal experiences. I tend to gravitate around themes of 'love, mercy, compassion and forgiveness' and reference lines from the Holy scripture and poetry that remind me of all bountiful qualities.
I try and give this ancient script a more accessible approach and with this collaboration with VIDA, I felt it would be a great platform to showcase the beauty of the script on other surfaces and mediums.
Given the current climate we’re in, it’s even more important to showcase that there is something beautiful in our faith, in our traditions, in our art and culture.
