Rules and Eligibility Requirements:
The VIDA Creative Arts Impact Scholarship Program (the “Scholarship”) is sponsored by VIDA, (“VIDA”).
Eligibility:
Subject to these Official Rules, the Scholarship is open only to permanent legal U.S. residents physically residing in the fifty (50) United States of America and the District of Columbia, who (i) are at least 17 years old as of the date of application; and(ii) are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States, as listed on the U.S. Department of Education website, available at http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.aspx. The scholarship is void outside the United States or where prohibited or restricted by law or where bonding, registration, or other requirements would be required but have not been met. All applicable federal, state and local laws apply. Scholarships shall be open to all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship, disability, age, or veteran status, subject to the limitations below. Scholarship will not be paid to Colleges or Universities outside of the United States. Employees of VIDA and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and any other party involved in the development or administration of this Scholarship, and their immediate family members or household members are not eligible to apply or receive a Scholarship. Past recipients may not apply for additional scholarship awards. Additional eligibility requirements for Scholarship are listed below:
Application Period:
Applications must be received by 11:59PM PST on October 30th, 2019. Applications received after the deadline will automatically be applied to the next deadline.
How to Enter:
No purchase or payment is necessary to apply for the Scholarship. Applicants agree to be bound by these Official Program Rules. Applications must be submitted online at www.shopvida.com/pages/vida-scholarship-program. Applicants will be required to submit their personal contact information, academic information, GPA (subject to verification via official transcripts), and career related activities. Applicants will also be required to write an essay answering a specified essay prompt. Candidates selected as finalists will also be interviewed. VIDA will not use, publicly display, distribute, publish, create derivatives of, use in promotional materials, and copy your application and responses without your written consent. VIDA expressly reserves the right to disqualify any applicant and/or applications that are inaccurate, incomplete, or that VIDA believes in good faith to be generated by an automated means or scripts or are the result of plagiarism. Applications generated by script, macro or other automated means are void.
Student Information:
All information collected as a part of the VIDA Scholarship Program will solely be used for the purposes of the scholarship award. VIDA does not distribute or sell any information submitted as a part of the scholarship application process to any third-parties.
Available Scholarships - The VIDA “Creative Arts Impact Scholarship”: One (1) $2,500 Scholarship.
VIDA will award a check made payable to the scholarship winner’s accredited post-secondary institution of higher education after receiving proof of enrollment for undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarships may not be assigned or transferred. No cash equivalent scholarship will be awarded. The awarding of any Scholarship is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules. Scholarships that are not used for the academic year for which they are awarded will be forfeited. If any potential winner fails to provide proof of identity, proof of enrollment, is found to have violated the Official Rules, or otherwise does not meet eligibility criteria, or if it becomes impossible or impractical to use the scholarship for the purpose designated, or if the scholarship is determined to be in conflict with any federal, state, or local law, regulation, or ordinance, then the scholarship will be forfeited and may be awarded at VIDA’s sole discretion to the applicant with the next highest score, subject to verification of eligibility. VIDA is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Contest or in the announcement of the scholarships.
Selection of Recipients:
Completed scholarship applications will be reviewed by representatives of VIDA to determine the winner of each scholarship in VIDA’s sole discretion. All decisions are final. Applications will be judged based on the following criteria: written communication skills, commitment to artistic creativity and impacting others, demonstrated academic ability, and overall application strength. VIDA reserves the right not to award a Scholarship if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive any qualified applications.
Winner Notification:
Scholarship recipients will be notified via the contact information provided to VIDA during the application process, which can be via email, mail, or phone. Scholarship recipients are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Program Rules. If an award notification is returned as undeliverable or a potential winner does not supply the required verification within the time specified, the award will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate recipient at VIDA’s sole discretion.
Award Payment:
The Scholarship will be awarded to the winner and paid directly to his/her accredited college or university for tuition for the semester following their win. No Scholarship monies will be paid directly to the winner. No payment of any Scholarship will be granted until VIDA is able to verify with the winner's financial aid department that they are, in fact, enrolled at the institution.
General Terms:
General Terms: SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS AND RECIPIENTS AGREE TO RELEASE VIDA, ITS EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, ASSIGNS, ADVERTISERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AND SHAREHOLDERS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, LOSS, DAMAGE, COST, CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE SCHOLARSHIP, THE SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION, THE SCHOLARSHIP ADMINISTRATION PROCESS, OR THE AWARD OF OR THE USE OF SCHOLARSHIPS. VIDA may, with written consent of the scholarship winner, use their name, photograph, voice and/or likeness, image, biographical information and statements, for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes. VIDA is not responsible for lost or incomplete applications or technical, hardware, software or telephone failures of any kind lost or unavailable network connections, fraud, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, whether caused by VIDA, users or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions which may damage a user's system or limit a user's ability to participate in this Scholarship. VIDA reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Scholarship Program should a virus, bug, computer problem, unauthorized human intervention or other cause beyond VIDA’s control inhibit or corrupt the administration, security, or fairness of the Program, and VIDA may disqualify any person who engages in or attempts any such activity. VIDA reserves the right to modify or terminate the scholarship program at any time for any reason in its sole discretion, with or without notice. Scholarship winner is solely responsible for any state or federal tax liability in association with acceptance of the scholarship. If any provision of the terms and conditions of this scholarship shall be held void, voidable, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Void where prohibited by law.
